I accidently erased important information on a Document in the Document Library, can I revert to the previous version?
There's unfortunately no way to revert back a previous version by a click of a button on the Versions page. However, there is a way you can, in a sense, by copying and pasting the HTML from the previous version:
1. Highlight the text you want to edit. 2. Replace the previous text with new information. 3. Click Save. 4. Select 'More' and 'Versions' at the top right. 5. Select the previous version you want to get the previous information. 6. Open the 'Toggle Preview' under 'LIB_TEXT'. 7. Navigation to the Document you want to fix, remove the newest text you saved accidently and paste the previous version information. Please note, copying and pasting a previous version to a Library Document will make a thin black box (a table) appear around the text. It is unremovable.
When creating a new Library Document you may find that certain special characters used in a Document Name may prevent it from being accessible on the site.
One example of this is the use of the ampersand ( & ) character.
When used in the Document Title and/or Short Title use of the & is permitted, however use of the & in the Document Name and then linking to the Document in a navigation item will result in a page doesn’t exist error.
There are other special characters that when used in the Document Name will cause this error. Another example is the / symbol.
If you have any further questions on the Document Library, please submit them to the IT Department Here!
