Creating a thumbnail video link in a webpage or email is accomplished using the editor found throughout the Members First system.
The tool used is the “Create a Link to a Vimeo or YouTube Video.”
In this example, we will be inserting a link from a YouTube video.
Start by going to YouTube and securing the video link URL. You may either:
- Right click on the YouTube video and select “Copy.”
OR
- By using the “Share” button and then copying the link to your clipboard.
With the video’s URL link copied to your clipboard you are now ready to work in the Members First editor.
When you are ready to insert your video thumbnail, click the place in the editor where you want the thumbnail to appear and then click the “Create a Link to a Vimeo or YouTube video” tool icon near the bottom of the editor.
A new window will open in front of the editor that contains a wizard that will insert the video thumbnail after you follow these steps.
- Click in the “Enter a YouTube or Vimeo Link” field and paste the link from your clipboard using Control V if on a PC or Command V if you are on a Mac.
- If desired select a thumbnail image.
- Choose the image size that will appear in the editor.
- Click the “Insert Thumbnail Video” button.
The wizard window will close, and you will see that the video thumbnail has been placed in the editor where you previously placed your insertion cursor.
You may continue to edit as needed the information in the editor. Don’t forget to periodically save your work by clicking the “Save” button.
Finally, if you are creating a webpage be sure to click the General Tab where you will need to click the “Active” box if you plan to make this visible and again don’t forget to Save your work.
